Does my pet need to fast before surgery?
Yes! If your pet is scheduled for surgery, it is required that your pet fast (no food or water) from 9 p.m. the night before surgery to help prevent complications.
Should I give my pet’s morning medication?
This depends on your pet’s medical condition, the prescribed medication, and the veterinarian’s instructions. Please call our office to inquire about medication instructions.
What time should I check in for surgery?
Our drop-off time for all anesthetic procedures is between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
Should I walk my pet before surgery?
Please walk your pet before checking in for surgery to give them a chance to go pee and poop. This will shorten your pet’s surgery prep time!
What time should I pick my pet up?
Most patients will be able to go home the day of surgery typically after 3:00 p.m. Sometimes, a discharge appointment is scheduled but you will be notified if that is the case. Feline patients that were declawed must stay overnight and can be picked up anytime the next day.
